Is it necessary to book courses in advance?
Yes, booking is required.

How can I book a course?
You can book courses online at https://www.skischule-mehliskopf.de/kursangebote/kurse-und-schneeschuhtouren/buchen. Go to the “courses” or “holiday courses” section in the menu. This will take you to the course selection page. Click on the “continue” button to select a date and book the course. Once we have received your booking, you will receive a confirmation email from us.
How do I pay for the course?
You can pay for the course in cash on the first day of the course. We do not accept card payments for courses.
What happens to my registration if the course is canceled, e.g., due to lack of snow?
If we cancel the courses, your registration will be canceled free of charge and you can register for another date.
Can I cancel a booked course, e.g., due to illness or another reason?
You can cancel a course subject to the following cancellation fees:
– If the participant does not show up for the course or cancels on the day of the course: 100% of the final amount.
– For cancellations less than 24 hours before the start of the course: 60% of the final amount.
– For cancellations less than 48 hours before the start of the course: 30% of the final amount.
Our courses take place
from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
We do not provide supervision during the lunch break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
What is the difference between the standard and intensive courses?
In the standard courses, we have a maximum of 8 participants per instructor. The intensive courses have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 participants per instructor.
What prior knowledge is required for the respective course classes?
Beginners: No prior practical knowledge required.
Advanced 1:
• First snowplow turns
• Gliding and braking in snowplow position
• Skiing straight ahead in parallel ski position and stable position
• Ascending in staircase and herringbone steps
Advanced 2:
First turns in parallel ski position
• Diagonal skiing and side slipping
• Rhythmic series of snowplow turns
• Snowplow turns with weight transfer
Advanced 3:
Slope tricks, riding waves and hollows
• Turn control basic features
• Turn changes – basic features including pole use
• Stable and secure position
• Parallel turning with variable track setting
Will my booked course take place?
One day before the course starts, you can find out whether your booked course will take place on our homepage from 5 p.m. onwards. You should check this especially in case of uncertain weather conditions

How many participants are there in a standard course?
Max. 10 participants per teacher (except in the event of a teacher’s short-term absence).
How far in advance do I have to register for a course?
As course places are limited, we recommend registering early.
What does “equipment included” mean?
For our ski courses, this includes skis, boots, and poles for the advanced course.
In the snowboard courses, this includes snowboards and boots.
Can I also rent helmets from you?
We rent helmets for €5 per day. Please book helmet rental when you register.
When do I need to be at Mehliskopf on the day of the course?
If you have booked equipment, please be there at 9:00 a.m.
If you are bringing your own equipment, it is sufficient to be there half an hour before the course starts.
Where is your ski school and rental shop located?
Our ski school and ski rental shop are located at the bottom station of the T-bar lifts, on the far right at the edge of the forest.
Do you also offer private lessons?
You can also book private lessons with us. During the week, this is possible at any time by telephone arrangement, and on weekends and during vacation periods from 3 p.m. Please send your request to https://www.skischule-mehliskopf.de/kursangebote/privatkurse/.
We will then get back to you regarding available slots.
How much does a private lesson cost?
One hour costs €70/hour for one person and €40/hour for each additional person.
If you also want to rent equipment, this costs €25 per person or €6 per person for a helmet for the duration of the private lesson.

What are the opening hours of your ski and snowboard rental shop?
When the lifts are operating, our rental shop is usually open daily as follows: (except for course participants)
monday-friday outside of holiday periods: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
monday-friday during holiday periods: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (for course participants from 9:00 a.m.)
saturday and sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (for course participants from 9:00 a.m.)
Opening hours are subject to change. Any changes will be announced on our homepage.
Last return time for rentals: 7:45 p.m.
Can I make reservations for rentals?
No, reservations are not possible.
What does online check-in mean?
Online check-in is not a fixed reservation, but simply serves to speed up the process on site.
